Who We Are

Founded in September 20 2024 by the family of Mr Edward Dickson, the David Dickson Educational Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in Nigeria through education and digital literacy. Fully funded by Mr David Dickson’s siblings, cousins, schoolmates and friends, the David Dickson Scholars Program empowers outstanding, underserved youth by providing comprehensive undergraduate scholarships—covering tuition and maintenance—alongside cutting-edge ICT programs.

With an ongoing investment of over 50 Million Naira, we support approximately 50 scholars annually, currently focusing on the South-South and South-West regions. We select our beneficiaries based on their intellectual ability, leadership potential, and dedication to community service. Our ultimate goal is to cultivate a network of globally competitive leaders ready to drive innovation and solve pressing challenges in health, technology, and finance across Nigeria.

Who is David Dickson?

David was the heart and soul of our family—a shining example of purpose, kindness, and dedication. From a young age, his boundless ambition and relentless work ethic were driven by a firm belief that persistence makes anything possible.

The true foundation of David’s life was his unwavering love for God. This deep faith fueled his extraordinary generosity, patience, and selflessness, even in his hardest moments. Whether helping family, friends, or strangers, David instinctively put the needs of others before his own.

He also held a profound belief in the transformative power of education. For David, knowledge wasn’t just a path to personal success; it was the ultimate tool for lifting people up and changing lives.

This foundation stands as a living testament to the values David held dear. By providing educational opportunities to those in need, we are honoring his legacy and continuing the work he cared so deeply about—supporting ambitious individuals and helping them achieve their dreams.

Through this foundation, David’s spirit of generosity, compassion, and ambition will live on, touching the lives of countless others just as he touched ours.
